Glen Coe Ultra Marathon and 10km27th August 2017
Martin was putting his amazing ultra legs to the test again with another Ultra Marathon. This time he was tackling 71km which maybe seemed like a walk in the park compared to the previous distance of 71 miles that he undertook! Marin was at the pointy end of the field again and took 6th place. Congratulations Martin!
Fiona Barrett and Danni Hamilton were also putting themselves to the test in what Fiona classed as the hardest race she’s ever done... I believe this was as a result of the never-ending bog! She was a bit mislead the day before when a friend said: ‘It’ll be that nice swoopy fire trail for the 10km!’. This was followed by the race briefing which described the race as a ‘nice easy route for you today... down the road, turn right along the Great Glen Way, when you get to the arrow turn right up the hill, keep going and turn right down the hill when you get to the chair lift’
Post-race Fiona commented... ‘Piece of cake right... that has to be the hardest event I’ve ever done, the most brutal route, but, oh my goodness what a hoot, such fun’
